Sell Anything with ChatGPT

Got a cupboard full of things you keep meaning to sell? Take photos, upload them to ChatGPT, and have it identify each item, estimate a realistic sale price, write the listings, and help you post them. For marketplaces that need sign-in, payment details, or final confirmation, you still need to approve the important parts. That is annoying, but also how you avoid accidentally selling your laptop for $11.

What ChatGPT builds for you

  • Item ID A plain-English guess at what each item is, including model, category, and useful details to verify.
  • Realistic pricing A current resale estimate, a quick-sale price, and a minimum price you should not go below.
  • Marketplace listings Titles, descriptions, condition notes, pickup or shipping text, and tags for each platform.
  • Buyer replies Short answers for common questions, lowball offers, pickup timing, and negotiation.

How to use it

  1. 1

    Photograph everything

Take clear photos of every item you want to sell. Use good light, a clean background, and multiple angles for anything expensive.

  2. 2

Get the item names and prices

Open ChatGPT, upload the photos, then ask it to identify each item and estimate the current resale value.

Look at each one of these items, tell me exactly what they are, what they are worth right now, and how much we can realistically sell them for.

  3. 3

    Write the listings

Stay in the same chat. Ask for a title, description, condition notes, and the exact price to post for each item.

Now write me the perfect listing for each one. Give me a title that sells, a description, the condition notes, and the exact price to post it at.

    Post where supported

Use ChatGPT Work, cloud browser, or the built-in browser. It can help fill public forms and prepare listings, but it may stop if a marketplace needs login, payment details, CAPTCHA, or your confirmation.

Open a browser and help me post these listings to the best marketplace and any other relevant selling platforms. Use the titles, prices, photos, and descriptions we created. Stop and ask me before publishing anything, accepting terms, changing prices, or sending messages.

    Set up daily buyer replies

Create a scheduled task to check in every 24 hours. It can draft replies, negotiation lines, and price-drop suggestions. You should approve messages before they go out.

Now schedule a task that runs every 24 hours to check for buyer messages, draft replies, negotiate toward the best possible price, and tell me what needs my approval.

Tips

  • Check every item ID before posting. ChatGPT can mistake similar models from a photo.
  • Ask for three prices: fast sale, fair sale, and do not accept below this.
  • Do not share passwords, payment details, or banking info in the chat.
  • Approve messages before they go out. A buyer negotiation is still your money.
